Rachel Challen (PFHEA, SFSEDA) is an Associate Professor in Educational Development and a Learning and Teaching Manager in the School of Arts and Humanities at Nottingham Trent University.
Rachel has worked in Higher and Further Education for 19 years promoting, inspiring and developing colleagues in the use of digital pedagogy and tools. Diversifying into wider Educational Development was a gradual but very rewarding patch, culminating in achieving SFSEDA early in 2022. It was the experience of this that encouraged Rachel to contribute to the work of SEDA through the Executive Committee, aligning with national influence on Teaching and Learning recognised through the award of Principal Fellow in 2018.
Rachel is passionate about equality in education for staff and students and is the Athena SWAN champion for the school and is currently developing three mandatory modules across the three-year UG structure, which aim to build a sense of identity, community, belonging and interdisciplinary expertise for Joint Honours students.
