Caitríona has worked in the UK HE sector for over 20 years in an array of roles including lecturing in initial teacher education (UG and PG programmes); programme leadership of an international teaching certificate (FHEQ Level 4) and leadership of a BA(Hons) degree; as well as posts in quality assurance and enhancement.
Staff and Educational Development experience includes pathway leadership on a Higher Education Academy [HEA]/Advance HE accredited CPD programme for recognition at PSF Descriptors 1-3 as well as operating as an external consultant co-facilitating PSF Descriptor 3 SFHEA workshops and mentoring.
External expertise roles include being the invited external subject specialist on periodic validation panels, external advisor on curriculum development, and acting as the External Examiner for three different BA (Hons) degree programmes.  As part of the UK Degree Standards Project, Caitríona undertook the Develop the Developer training and assessment to become a HEA/Advance HE Recognised Facilitator to deliver the Professional Development Course for External Examiners.
Caitríona has been a Designated Quality Board Assessor (Institutional Assessor and Subject Assessor) as part of panels undertaking Quality and Standards Reviews [QSR] for the UK Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education [QAA]. In addition, she has recently been appointed to the new Office for Students [OfS] pool of Assessors for QSR and Degree Awarding Powers [DAP]s.
Caitríona is committed to CPD and is currently undertaking a Doctorate in Education part-time. She is also a co-opted school governor having served for 8 years to date. Caitríona is highly passionate about engendering positive inclusive learning environments that empower learners to shape their learning journey and flourish as individuals.  She is excited to contribute to the SEDA community as Deputy Programme Lead FSEDA.
