Call for expressions of interest - SEDA Special on Managing Student Behaviour

Posted on: Wednesday 26 February 2014

SEDA Papers Committee is inviting expressions of interest to write or edit a new SEDA Special on Managing Student Behaviour in HE. The call comes following discussion with members about a gap between student behaviours associated with motivation and/or readiness for HE study and educatorsÂ’ expectations of student engagement with academic study, both classroom and assessment activities. In some cases this has led to a growing interest in workshops and sessions on this area of professional development, for which a SEDA Special would be a valuable resource.

Areas within the Special could include: non-attendance as behaviour, time management and assessment, BYOD and social media in classrooms, internationalisation and inclusion in classroom activity and the development of policy.

Full information about SEDA Specials can be found on the Publications pages of the SEDA web site. Please send expressions of interest on the Proposals Pro-forma to by 28th April 2014, including details of the timetable for publication. Prospective authors can expect to hear back from the Committee by the end of May 2014.
