Writing Support
The committee encourages educational practitioners and
developers to write about their research and evaluation in learning and
teaching in order to share experiences and evidence their contribution to
knowledge.
Members represent a wide range of interests and experience
and provide links into a number of established and emerging research networks.
This currently includes: Higher Education Academy
EvidenceNet [http://www.heacademy.ac.uk/evidencenet], SRHE Academic Practice Network [http://www.srhe.ac.uk/networks.apn.asp], Heads of Educational Development Group
[http://www.hedg.ac.uk/], iPED research network
[www.coventry.ac.uk/iped], ELESIG [http://elesig.ning.com].
Each year we organise a number of research and evaluation
events aimed to build capacity for writing, for example in June 2009 Gina
Wisker and Celia Popovic ran a well-regarded event called “Turning your
Conference Paper into a Publication”. They also facilitated a writing workshop at the SEDA Spring Learning, Teaching and Assessment Conference for
those who presented papers. In June 2010 SEDA held a Writing Retreat. To find out more information about this event, click here.
