The core development outcomes emphasise the reflective process of professional development. The outcomes put the onus on the individual to take responsibility for his/her own development and suggest a process for this. Those successfully undertaking and completing a SEDA-PDF accredited programme will be able to:

  1. Identify their own professional development goals, directions or priorities
  2. Plan for their initial and / or continuing professional development
  3. Undertake appropriate development activities
  4. Review their development and their practice, and the relations between them.

The core development outcomes can be used in programmes to structure the cycle of needs analysis, identification, planning and implementation and review for individuals.  Additionally, the expectation is that the individual will continue this process beyond the programme of development.

The specialist outcomes provide focus for the development cycle.
